Free Indeed

 

Those whom the Son sets free

are truly free indeed;

fear is in the past

and love becomes the seed.

 

Insecurities are demolished;

self-hatred has to flee;

joy replaces sadness;

salvation is the key.

 

With open arms He calls us

from darkness into light,

it is despair we leave behind
when we give up the fight.

 

When we choose to leave rebellion

and come back to our God,

He throws the biggest party,

that response, to us, seems odd.

 

He tells us welcome home;

in our filth we are embraced;

There's approval in His eyes;

only love shows on His face.

 

He takes our filthy garment

and gives us a fine one,

puts a ring upon our finger,

He's glad to have us home.

 

It's only the beginning

when our life becomes His;

a complete transformation

is for us His wish;

 

He's not for one moment

forgotten who we are to be;

He removes our sin and bondage,

that in Him we might be free.

 

When love becomes our master

then all fear has to flee;

new life unfolds within us

we are truly free indeed.

 

John 8:36 (NIV) - So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

 

Luke 15:20-24 (NIV) So he got up and went to his father. "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. "The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son. '"But the father said to his servants, 'Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' So they began to celebrate.

 

I am a prodigal who wandered far from God. I am eternally grateful that He never gave up on me.

Some Kind of Gift

Let us Talk  

Man I love to receive gifts, especially when they are a surprise and I had no idea I was getting one! Then of course there are also times when I would desire such and so and low and behold I would receive it. I believe that is the way our heavenly Father works. There are those gifts He places within us that surprise us and then others we desire which we also receive.

 

And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teacher. (Ephesians 4:11)

 

And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. (1 Corinthians 12:28 NIV)

 

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his[b]faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. (Romans 12:6-7)

 

One cluster of gifts which I will call ministerial gifts are used for building the body of Christ. They are for exhortation, edification and correction. Then there are natural talents. We will keep that discussion for another time. The ministerial gifts are for the Body of Christ

 

For God's gifts and his call are irrevocable. (Romans 11:29)

 

If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! (Mathew 7:11)

 

Then there are some gifts that are just given without us asking and at times we do ask. Those gifts are given without repentance! They are deposited within us at birth and are exposed as we grow in this world. That goes the same for our talents. Notice some of these gifts are in our natural makeup! --gifts of administration (which are several) and gifts that help others. Yet they are still given to us through the grace of God!

 

Then there are gifts such as Salvation, that is free to those who call on the name and profess Jesus as Lord and Savior. And the gift of Faith. It is said that all receive a measure of Faith and it is our choice to grow that faith!

 

Today I would like to unveil the gift of tongues. Not to be confused with the gift to be used for the Body of Christ at large. The gift of tongues or utterance is available to all believers for the uplifting, encouraging, edification, correction for oneself and intercession for others!

 

So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.. (Romans 8:26 Amplified)

 

That scripture clinches it for me. For it is not always easy to pray for the people I love or the people who come to me asking for prayer in my own understanding. Yet I know that by using my prayer language, I will be praying that perfect prayer, for others, for myself, and for those I love.

 

We will consider some reasons why we as believers should hunger and thirst for the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of praying in tongues!

 

 

WHO ARE WE

"What are we made of"

 

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19 RSV)

God is a triune God-- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each has a particular purpose and personality. We humans are also triune.

May the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.. (1Timothy 5:23 RSV)

The Word also tells us we are made in God's image and likeness. We are made up of Body, Soul (Mind or Emotions), and Spirit.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

When we truly receive Jesus for who He is—our Savior-Redeemer King—we become new in our spirit man. Our spirit man, once dead in sin, is made alive in Christ. Salvation is a gift given to us by our heavenly Father's grace!

I am refraining myself from incorporating many scriptures so please feel free to search them out other scriptures that reveal truth about these subjects. I do encourage you to let the Holy Spirit lead you and guide you to those scriptures so they can personally speak to you so your faith may be secure grounded and rooted in His love.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness… (Galatians 5:22)

It becomes evident as time goes on in our lives with Christ that we are new creatures. The evidence is the fruit of the spirit that grows on our human man.

Yet there are times in our lives when we just need more. We need more grace to access the Holy One so He may empower us to accomplish His work. We want our prayers to be more effective. We want more love, more power, more change in our natural lives and in our mortal bodies. We are looking for the supernatural to manifest in ourselves, in our lives, and in the lives of those around us. We crave the gifts of the Spirit.

Now there are two types of gifts. One type is ministerial gifts used for building the body of Christ.

Then there are gifts such as Salvation that are available to all believers.  to be continued...

Response to : How Do You Taste?

I'm just getting to reading this. . .   It really gives you something to think about, especially if you have the tendancy to be lukewarm.   I'd been doing some isolating for a few months and it really brought me down, even to the point of doubting my Christianity because I'd been so "lukewarm."   Thanks be to God though, that today I'm doing good and I pray for a continual healing in my life.   Thank you for your words of wisdom, your insights are awesome.   Sincerely and God bless, Joan

Celebrate Palm Sunday

 

To my beloved friends!   Celebrate our King who was and is to come!  Visit with friends and family and loved ones and share the message of His coming!    Share what He has done in your life and what He promises to fulfill.  His word will never be retracted.  It is alive and is appropriate for NOW.      Reflect on the Word of the Lord that comes forth through others to you. When we get a glimps of the future our lives change.  We work the Word of the Lord into our lives. Once we see ourselves as God our Father does we strive to hit the mark. This was Scriptural--Purely Scripture!  It was straight from the heart of our Father.   Reflect on the prophetic words and words of Knowledge that have come into your life.  Remember how His Grace and Mercy fell upon you!  In your quiet time rejoice!    As you gather in Faith with believers, the Lord will continue to grow your faith!    I look forward to more encounters with our loving Father. How about you?   Reflect and Rejoice for in our celebrating He will continue to make Himself known.   May He greet you with an embrace and a holy kiss.   Dianne
