Adorning One Self

The world that we know of is becoming smaller and smaller. The principal in which our government was once founded is fading away. The comforts of life we have grown accustomed to and take for granted are becoming scarce. The American dream is evaporating and becoming a dream of essentials-food, shelter, and water.

There is only one thing that is for certain and that is God the Father and His begotten Son, Jesus the Christ. Without a relationship with Jesus Christ and God our Father, and guidance of the Holy Spirit we will be lost forever. He alone will provide for us. He alone is Lord over our lives, our families, and our lost world. Trust in Him-Believe upon Jesus and you will find eternal life!

1 John 2:17
This world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.

And one might ask what does please God? It is the working out of our faith. In short, "Faith Pleases God!"

James 1:25
But the man who looks intently into perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it-he will be blessed in what he does.

This perfect law we have are the Promises God has set before us in His word. The perfect law is living within the constraints of His abiding love. He gives us a love without measure and in return we cannot help but to love Him back.

Faith is not emotional nor is it deductive reasoning. Faith is not belief in this world or the flesh. Faith is believing in the One who created flesh and the world in which we live. Faith is stepping into position to receive the divine promises of God. It is expecting the truth of the living Word to come to pass in our lifetime.

Where is your faith? Can you look past the facts of sickness and reports of death? Dare to believe that this mere existence is just a fraction of our reality! We must put our trust and faith in God. And not only the written Word, but by the Spirit of His Word also.

Stop-Just stop for one minute, give Him thanks give Him praise.

Stop trying so hard to be Godly. Stop doing out of the sweat of your brow! Just surrender to His divine presence and in His presence, in your face to face communication, He will bring about His nature within!

I want us all to get a reality check and realize the Lord Almighty dwells within us. Our personality and character becomes sanctified in His righteousness and we become a new creation in spirit and in the natural. As we humble ourselves and release ourselves from our human nature "self" we will come into our birthright He has ordained for us.

Are You Ready?

At one time I believed living ready meant to be prepared for disaster! Live on the defensive and keep your guard up and at all times and be ready to quarrel with the opposition with the harshest words you can muster up. Be ready to undermine blows of the opposite force.

Be ready for a storm by having extra food on hand-canned goods, dry foods, powered milk, extra water and of course if at all possible have a generator ready to go. Be ready for disaster! Get the medicine cabinet packed with aspirin, bandages, peroxide, alcohol antibacterial cream! On an on it goes. In years past I have lived that way--on the defensive. Living this way can take a toll on our mental and physical well-being.

I have learned to relax and trust all is well with my soul. Not that I do not have some of those things in place today; but my mind is not on alert. It is not on the defensive. I have ceased to live in worry waiting for the next shoe to drop-so to speak. It is not I who can save the day. It is the Lord who works His hand in all things. For that I am at rest and at peace.

Ladies and gents, these days ahead of us are those of trials and tribulations. I am sure of it! The Word clearly states do not fear for I will never leave or forsake you. I am the great I am. The first and the last. The alpha the omega! Get your head wrapped around that!

He is who He says He is and He will fulfill every promise He has promised. Live at peace knowing all is well with your soul. Live knowing you are ready to reach out in His love, to pray without ceasing, and to love one another like you have never loved before.

Hard Pressed

I am hard pressed and remain in His wine press. It is with the Love of Christ I write to encourage and uplift the body of Christ Jesus. To be steadfast in Christ Jesus, who so totally loved us with his death and knowing that through His death that we all may live.

It is with great concern I address the adorning glory that is lacking within our hearts. For I know very well that we take much thought and preparation choosing how we dress ourselves. We realize it is important. Those things we choose bring the acceptance and approval of others. So in that I believe we do well. However it is the adornment of Christ within that expresses itself through our thoughts and our words and ultimately is how we act out our faith.

Here lie the questions. Are we willing to abandon our self worth and reputation to be crazy in love with Jesus? Do we speak forth the good news from our life experiences? Do we dare set forth in unchartered territories touching the hearts for Christ sake? Do we dare allow the Holy Spirit to lead us? Do we let the Hope of Glory that resides within shine forth in thoughts that transform us with words that encourage and create those things not yet seen with the naked eye with acts of kindness wrapped in the arms of our heavenly Father's love to others?

So let us be hard pressed as we remain in His wine press becoming more like Him. In Christ let us reside so we will be a witness that carries and demonstrates His glorious power and authority here on earth through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Tis the Season

This is the season for decorating, thinking of jovial things, and above all being happy and enjoying the holiday festivities. Well I am filled to the brim with turkey all its trimmings and of course I cannot forget the cheesecake, various pumpkin sweets, and homemade apple pie to boot. Our dinner table was arranged with love and care and the company we kept was one of family and friends. Thanksgiving for me is a happy time reminiscing about all the wonderful people and times we have had over the years.

Now we are preparing for another festive time, that of the Lord Jesus' birth and all the people and presents (or presence) we get to share! We prepare our homes once again, selecting our outfits and decorating our lawns for the upcoming event. There is much pride and precious time spent planning for that day. Do you agree?

Ephesians 6:11, 15-17
Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. In every battle you will need faith. Put on salvation as your helmet

Notice all the "put on's". For us to put something on we must make a decision on what that is to be. We also have a choice in the manner in which we think and the thoughts we choose to think and meditate upon!

I am thinking about the time we spend on adorning our thoughts with right thinking and thinking on heavenly things to come. And even thinking about whom we shall bless! I am saying we should spend the time to select our thoughts like we select our clothing or how we prepare our homes for this holiday. We should stop trying so hard to have things just so. Instead shouldn't we try serenading the lover of our souls and let it be His way.

Colossians 3:12
Since God chose you to be the holy people whom he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. (NLT)

Romans 13:12
Clothe yourselves with the armor of right living, as those who live in the light. (NLT)

When we clothe ourselves, we make choices as to what to wear; as is also true with our thinking and living.

Tis the season to remain in His presence until we can relax, forgive our self and the God that dwells within us will abound to us all good

His Majesty

The morning began before the world here was stirring. For me that is how it felt. There was a blanket of darkness all around and the still of the night was ever present. Yes, I was awake at five this morning. For those who know me, you could say it was in the middle of my night.

Dick was stirring around, coffee was brewing yet there was a quite I had to take advantage of. I sat in my chair-should say I sat in my mother-in-laws chair that has now found a home in KY. I settled in wearing a hooded sweater and sat. I sat and sat. No thoughts, not even a sound I uttered. Then I realized I was sitting in His holy presence. My existence was sponging up His eternal love and acceptance.

Now the dawn is beginning to come and I can sense the energy beginning to arise. In my mind I began to dwell on the day and what lies ahead. More packing, lunch in Somerset with Miss and the little Miss, stop at Lowe's etc, etc.

What a busy life we lead! How full we make it! How little time we give our maker who is continually calling: "Come, there is peace, and rest for your souls. Sit awhile with Me and I shall give you strength for the day. I shall give you wisdom and opportunity to serve today. Come and love on Me, the Lover of Your Soul!"

So today in the wee hours of the morning, I sat and acknowledged His almighty majesty! How about you?

Do Not Wait

Don't Wait
Until everything is just perfect.
Until you know it all.
Until all is presentable in your sight

Don't Wait
We will never have all the answers
Our homes will never be finished for guests
We will never be satisfied with the knowledge we have in Christ

Let us face it We will never be ready to present the Gospel
We will never be ready to have guests enter our homes

So go with what you know and what is done at the present. As you go and invite you will grow in Him personally and as a body of Christ you will grow in numbers-giving praises to the King.

Jesus did not want to perform the miracle of changing water into wine. He said it was not His time yet. Yet he listened to mom! So today receive me as your mom-grandma

There is never a perfect time, the right place, moment, or season to present Christ. Life is what it is-imperfect. It is always revolving, transforming, becoming!

Jesus told his disciples to go and tell making disciples as they go! They did not feel they were ready either. Yet they prayed and as the Spirit presented Himself to them they were filled with GRACE, the power from above. So they went out telling all what they knew. They too, grew as they went. They Added to the Kingdom of God as they went about doing their Fathers business, as did Jesus.

So jump right in. Take the plunge. Be exposed as you are in Christ. Stretch your faith in Jesus; as you do you shall grow into great faith with great numbers following Christ.

Let us celebrate today! Today is the day! Jesus is Alive and now is the time. This is the place. Just as others see us they too will see Jesus!

Fleeting Thoughts

Have you ever had a fleeting thought? It is brilliant, it is so right, so perfect. Yes, it was from God. Then off we go continuing with whatever and along the way we forget that brilliant implant God wanted us to grow.

"Next time!" We promise God we will stop, ponder, and think about the thought He sent our way. It happens again and again! We are the ones missing out! Next time Lord, I will stop and ponder, write and study so that wonderful implant will take root. I will explore it with you, Holy Spirit so that your perfect nature can be exposed within me.

Don't we all want His perfect nature to be revealed within us? See it is not always in those obvious sinful actions that we disobey the Lord. It is the little foxes that spoil the vine! It is those small things that He drops into our spirit that we ignore that spoils it for us. In subtle nudges and fleeting thoughts He instills and instructs us ever so softly. Those are the things I am working on. To hear and obey. Not to hear and put off until later. Later comes and I have missed it. Missed the revelation, missed a blessing, missed a time to be an instrument of faith.

Something so trivial, you might think. It all seems to be such a very small insignificant thing yet it is so vital to the larger picture. How complete is a puzzle with missing pieces? Not so complete is it? We are like that puzzle and each time we put off what the Holy Spirit has for us we are incomplete. Thank God for His mercies are new every morning. Yes, we have missed a piece. Yet if we continue on in Him we will become complete.

Pray this along with me: "Lord, this day I pray I will become more sensitive to Your voice. Make me more obedient to follow through with those fleeting thoughts that You place within me. Forgive my procrastination and preoccupation with other things. Lord thank you for making me aware of my short comings so that I may bear fruit for You."

Be Gentle as a Dove!

Mathew 10:16
I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.

In the word there are several places where the Lord describes certain attributes using a dove. I would like to consider some of those attributes and see how we can relate as believers. Ready, let us go and discover how we are like the dove.

Noah sent the dove to find vegetation. Several times the dove came back empty handed, yet each time the dove flew far and wide until it came back with the promise of land; with an olive branch in its mouth. The last time the dove did not return, it left to begin its new life in a land that was regenerated, made new.

We are to be point men like that dove. We are to go and share the gospel with all we meet. We are to go and discover the new life we have with Jesus.

We read in Mark 1:10 where the spirit of the Lord descended upon Jesus LIKE a dove. Notice it said like and not a dove itself! But gently in peace the Spirit of the Lord rested on Jesus calling him into ministry just as it rests on us when we are regenerated, made new in Jesus.

We are like Jesus, called forth to share the truths and manifest the fruits of our faith in Jesus. He who rested on Jesus is resting in us also. We have been regenerated to become the church.

O Jehovah, deliver not the soul of Thy turtledove unto the wild beast (Psalm 74:19) I believe the turtledove here is depicting the life of our faith devoured by the wild beast. So cry out with me, “Lord preserve our faith and do not let it be consumed by those without love for me!” Protect the dove of your faith always treasuring what the Lord has given you. Grow up my friends in the love of Christ, defending the cross with His love and compassion with the eyes of the dove.

Innocent, holy and pure as a dove we come into the presence of the Lord. “I cried like a swift or thrush, I moaned like a mourning dove. My eyes grew weak as I looked to the heavens. I am troubled; O Lord, come to my aid!"In Isaiah 38:14 only those who are innocent and child-like will inherit the kingdom of God.

The dove instinctively seeks shelter while man does not know when to seek shelter in times of trouble. We tend to use our own means, the ways of the world, and the Lord is trying to tell us “Lean on Me, call upon Me and I will give you shelter and provide you for all your needs!” I am referring to Jeremiah 8:7 here.

Doves signify intellectual things: gentle, beautiful, clean, and useful, intellectual truths and goods. Do we have those characteristics? Or are we fierce, ugly, unclean, and useless, like the raven, which is opposed to the dove?

Lord, I pray, that in my life with you I will be gentle and as smart as the dove showing forth Your goodness for the rest of my days!

Supernatural

What's brewing? What's stewing in your pot? What is that babble all about? I have heard that you were conjuring up something?

All these are connotations exciting the young and old. The knowledgeable and the ignorant join in these festivals/traditions of fall-Halloween!

The anticipation of the supernatural is always lurking. Yes, evil as well as the Holy Spirit is searching to and fro to find a place to rest. The scripture tell us the Holy Spirit is like a dove looking for a place to rest His feet.

Everyone is drawn to the supernatural. Christians and heathens alike crave for the supernatural, the thrill of an experience of the paranormal. The Spirit of the Living God or the spirit of death? The choice is yours. I choose life. God promises us abundant life at that.

So if you are sitting over a brewed cup of coffee/tea, let the Holy One come and ignite your soul. What is stewing in my pot? Prayers for individuals attached to each a promise of the Lord to carry them through. A healing touch for their bodies for some and for others a release from emotional distress. Deliverance of bondages, heart aches, and spirits of inheritance. God can do it all. Others need a touch in their minds. God did not give us a spirit of fear but of peace, love, and a sound mind. Fear not for I'll not leave you nor forsake you. Vengeance is mine says the Lord and all judgments and hostilities leave in the mighty name of Jesus.

When the words stop to flow from my lips one can hear the rumblings and groaning come forth-in my prayer language I continue to take every evil thing captive and release the power of the Holy One. I stand, sit, rest my head on a pillow, or pace about knowing well that my obedience to pray sets things in motion. Then all I need to do is wait. Wait and see what the Lord has done! The supernatural happens and once again I can say I have partnered with the master, creator of all, your Father God and mine. There is nothing better than to play a part in the supernatural life He has given us!

With that I say "What are you brewing, stewing, or babbling about?" Is it for good or evil? It is up to you!

Let us pray together: "Lord I release every evil thought or deed I have committed knowingly or in my ignorance. They no longer have any hold on me. I surrender to you Jesus all my life, my soul, my thoughts, and deeds. May I receive your blessing so that I may become a blessing partnering with you in the divine nature you so willingly gave me. In Jesus name I pray."

Faith Power

Did you know that faith has power? Fear, like satan, continues to look to where he may penetrate. When fear lurks the Spirit filled person's faith leaps for joy. Faith makes you laugh at the impossible and obtain the extraordinary! Fear makes people run while faith allows one to stand in peace knowing that their God arises and wins every battle.

Today I am grateful to have been given faith ignited by His grace -- the faith of my salvation. Then the second kind is the faith that knows what Jesus told us is true - faith in Jesus. Lastly the gift of faith that drops into our spirit as we believe for those things not seen to be created as new!

Faith-my faith and your faith is what makes the Father proud!

Have you been growing your faith? It grows by hearing the Word of God, by walking out in what the Holy Spirit is prompting you, by extending what you know to those things not yet accomplished. Our increased faith is acquired by action. The lack of taking action in faith robs and steels us from the blessings the Father has for us. If you do not use it, you will lose it.

So what are you believing for or having faith in? Make Abba Father, your Daddy proud! Use your measure of faith and more will be added to you.

One With Him

How close are we with the Spirit of our Lord Jesus? When we give our wills over to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to purify our thoughts we are drawn to walk in heavenly places and perform heavenly deeds in our ordinary everyday life. I believe it is the Father's will for us to walk in signs and wonders that draw souls into His kingdom.

John 6: 28-29
Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?" Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

My understanding of that verse is that if we believe in Jesus we also believe what he has taught us. That includes laying hands on the sick and seeing them recover. Just as the lady with the issue of blood just touched his garments, just as the clothing of Paul healed we too have the same Holy Spirit that lives within. We too have the authority and power because of He who lives within.

John the Baptist was sent as a forerunner to Jesus, testifying to the revelation of the Son of God. Then the Son came with the power of the Holy Spirit to reveal faith. Now the living God has chosen us to do likewise. The power is not of us but of God who lives within us. We should be so ONE with the Holy Spirit that others and sometimes we do not recognize where we end and He begins.

Philippians 3:20-21
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

So my friends do not justify or defend either your faith or your presentation. For the Lord our God is our witness, judge, and vindicator. May we all take heed to that Written Word of God so that no one falls short of His Grace. Be all the glory to Him whom we adore and love.

Smith Wigglesworth once said, "My Lord help us be true to God first, then if we are true to God we will be true to ourselves. Let God be our first choice of our desires and our plans."

Let these words go deep into our soul. May God transform us into the magnets that lead others to Christ!

Vacation

Vacation is a time for the world to go away-a time for life as we know it to stop! Suddenly we snap into a deep inner peace. Some may recognize it as being bored! You can almost feel your nerves snap, pop, and then uncoil into a relaxed state.

Isaiah. 30:15.
There's something invigorating and renewing about retreating to a quiet place of rest and peace.

It is a time to be vacant to the hassle and bustle affairs of life and its tragedies and instead to be present to the chirping of birds and the slapping of the ocean's presence. If you find yourself being bored, be reminded that you have entered a place of serenity. Go with it-allow nature and the most Holy One enter in and bring you to a place of healing. Reach out to the One who has created the universe and listen to the treasures He is speaking all around you. He will refresh your soul and strengthen your inner being.

Now you will be ready to go back to your life responsibilities and its hectic swirl once again. Remember you can return to this serenity of bliss at any moment. Just recall and sense as the creator of all allows your imagination to bring you back even if it is just for a couple of minutes-the Holy Spirit can do it for you! You can come back at any given time to be restored, renewed, and refreshed in His presence that you host within.

For He tells us "Be still and Know that I am God", " I am your redeemer and can redeem your time", "I am your healer, your peace maker, your comforter and your restorer and guide"

These are only a few of God's divine attributes displayed for you. All out of the Love He has for you. So enjoy your vacation and have an encounter of the Lover of your soul.

Dilemma

A couple of weeks ago I had been troubled with allergy symptoms-headache, post nasal drip, and even sore throat. I felt as if I was backed into a corner and I began to take an antihistamine. I say backed into a corner because I know that the anointing of Jesus could have healed me. And that thinking took me into these plaguing questions: Where is my faith? Have I sinned? But I cannot repent-because I know if I tried to stop taking the pill I would end up with the symptoms again and so I begin taking medicine once again. Now is that sin?

Those thoughts troubled me, so I shared them with my husband, Dick. And he dismissed it simply by saying "Taking medicine is not sin!" Then I shared it with some gals I pray with here in KY. They encouraged me to continue taking the meds until the healing of the Lord presented itself.

I truly felt that I was grieving the Holy Spirit. If I stopped using the pills I knew I would go back on them again. "Feeling really sorry for sin is not enough-repentance is necessary" So was this sin? I told myself "Repent and sin no more" Taking a pill is NOT sin. Thank you, Jesus for that practical word. It healed my heart and set me straight.

Can you see the dilemma? It was the thought I had. I had to submit those to the Holy Spirit tutelage. The Holy Spirit will take care of my heart and lead me into all truth chasing away fear of disobedience and fear of sin. For I know perfect love cast out all fear and sin alike.

Then the Holy Spirit began to show me that when His voice speaks it liberates our souls. He brings fruit and holiness and peace. When the Holy Spirit speaks, life begins to bubble up with Joy and gladness. It lifts us to a higher place. Up to Zion-the place where the Lord dwells!

Those thoughts of mine did no such thing. How about your thoughts? Bring them into the accountability of two or three witnesses and submit them to the Holy Spirit. Right thinking will occur because He is able and we are willing.

This morning I say Thank you Holy One for teaching me to test the "voices", the thoughts that plaque my mind. Thoughts or spoken words that bring sadness condemnation and captivity do not come from the throne of Jesus. We expose them to the Light of Jesus to be dealt with. He is faithful to fill the void with His steadfast love!

So when the spoken word goes forth or thoughts begin to trouble your spirit test and see whether they are from God or satan! Then BELIEVE the one who saved us, Lord Jesus. Keep your heart and mind on Christ Jesus.

As a Man Thinks So is He

It is a great statement. Yes, it came from the Bible and another thought it was great so he wrote a book about it. His name was James Allen.

Today I would like to remind you that as you think so you are also. There are times in my life when I get not so good thoughts. Some are of fear or are fear leading! Some might come in dreams tempting me to sin. Some thoughts are about not thinking good of me or being judgmental to others. The list goes on and you may as well jump right in with your nasty thoughts as well. Got them out? Did you write them down? If so burn them and think upon this:

When we are pure in heart we only think about pure things. "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God" (Matthew 5:8) When I find that my peace has been disturbed in any way, and thoughts come flooding into my soul, I detect that it is the enemy trying to take me from that perfect will of my Father. Ah, the Lord Jesus has promised me and you that to keep our mind in perfect peace we need to be focused on Him. (Isaiah 26:3).

In Romans 12:1 Paul reminds us to present ourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God as that is our service to Him. Then in the next verse I believe the Holy Spirit spoke though Paul when he taught us not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of our mind, that we may prove what is the perfect will of God.

So my encouragement to you this day is the same to myself: Whatever is true, noble, and just, whatever is pure and lovely, whatever is a good report, and whatever is virtuous and worthy of praise meditate on Take out that list you have been compiling-the list of the Good God has done for you and through you. Think on those things. If you do not have a list, begin today starting with the day Jesus became your friend, lover of your soul, and your Lord and Savior! Begin with the grace He has given you to repel evil and do good.

For He and He alone is our comfort, our shelter, and our right guard! In Him all things are possible! Believe and see how Good He is! Those negative thoughts will vanish and the new man will arise!

Blessings, Dianne

Response: Simply Put

As you read this response, let the Holy Spirit lead you into a divine revelation!
8/ 30/ 2010

Hi, Dianne:
Praise God for you! I appreciate what you shared today in "Simply Put." Wow! "Out of the mouths of babes!" :) Two sentences that especially stick out to me are: "I give my heart away." and "When Jesus is in my heart there is no past." Whew! As I consider the first sentence, it comes to me that I don't give my heart wholly away. I, and probably many of us, tend to keep little parts to ourselves. We must give it all to Jesus, for all time! "...NO PAST." That requires some thought. I am reminded of Philippians 3:13 - "forgetting those things which are behind..." Selah! I will take this to God in prayer.

Thank you for sharing this with us!

Be Spirit led not Man Fed

John 14:26
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. (NIV)

It was a short time after my healing of Crohn's disease that I began to understand the leading and teaching of the Holy Spirit. Our pastor at the time told us no matter who he invited to come to teach or impart to the body "You two seems to be already doing it". We had no clue that that was the teaching and leading of the Holy Spirit who dwelled within us

For example, there was a time we were selected amongst a group of people to go for training in inner healing and deliverance. What an exciting prospect to be used to set people free.

Before we attended these sessions we had to complete a survey about our lives. It was a long list of possible sin and or bad experiences from our past. Believe it or not Dick and I began to share the experiences we had had as a result of the survey. Dick's list was rather short while mine was lengthy and complex. Lo and behold the Holy Spirit led us into the freedom of His embrace and set me free from a past experience. He set me free from the shame of being raped by my older cousin. He set me into a place of greater confidence in Him and released from low self-esteem. We had never done anything like this in our lives. We kept praying and I kept rehearsing the event until I no longer had felt the emotions of pain and hurt. I began to see my past as a movie! It was another me who suffered this event and now I was free to share with others what God did for me!

Now that was being led and taught by the Holy Spirit!

Another experience was when our daughter was about 14 years old. The pastor had a couple come to expose the healing gifts and gift of miracles! During this time our daughter had a friend suffering from cancer. The doctors said his time was close to an end. We visited with him and the Holy Spirit showed himself in Glory as a word spoken to her friend opened his heart to believe. I saw this fellow riding a motorcycle and related it to his life in the spirit. Then I told him the Lord Jesus wanted him to change. During our visit the Lord Jesus entered his body performing the miraculous and shortly thereafter he was released from the hospital.

Being baptized with the Spirit gives us power to overcome every obstacle and every dilemma that may try to keep us from living a supernatural life. You have the opportunity to live life to its fullest. Take the plunge into the Spirit realm. Be baptized in the Holy Spirit and let Him take over your life. In Jesus name, I pray.

Just recall and sense as the creator of all allows your imagination to bring you back even if it is just for a couple of minutes—the Holy Spirit can do it for you!

Your granddaughter, Alex, is so very special.  But, what came to mind when I read her lyrics, is "AND A CHILD SHALL LEAD THEM"  What a beautiful heart she has, and your heart must burst with love and pride.

aren't grand kids the best blessing???

wow, MAY i FORWARD?

Wow, that was wonderful.  It brought back memories.  We also have a 5 yr. old grandchild, but a boy.  He doesnt sing about Jesus, but at VBS, he looked like a Pentecostal dancing in front of church.  He does like to pray at the end of the day and thank Jesus for 3 things that happened that day.  I love that part of the day.  Our grandchildren will grow up with a thankful heart.  His 8 yr. old brother is also grateful to God.  We took their older brothers, now 19 to Awanas, VBS and church as often as we could and today, they are also following the Lord.  God is faithful.  Thanks for the wonderful blog.

What I heard was that God is raising up an army with a heart!  LOVE WILL DEFEAT THE ENEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Called to Water Walk

Matthew 14:24-32
Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. About three o'clock in the morning Jesus came to them, walking on the water. When the disciples saw him, they screamed in terror, thinking he was a ghost. But Jesus spoke to them at once. "It's all right," he said. "I am here! Don't be afraid." Then Peter called to him, "Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come to you by walking on water." "All right, come," Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he looked around at the high waves, he was terrified and began to sink. "Save me, Lord!" he shouted. Instantly Jesus reached out his hand and grabbed him. "You don't have much faith," Jesus said. "Why did you doubt me?"

Notice that all the disciples heard Jesus tell them not to be afraid. Peter saw the Lord and was the only one who stepped out of the boat to meet with Jesus. I know Peter was not that brave at first. He had to ask if it was really Him. Then after Jesus replied, Peter's confidence builds and he begins his journey on the water.

Today there are many in the boat of "the church building" preoccupied with the world and with the responsibilities we do at the "church building". So much so we do not see or hear the Lord's calling to us. For some of us, we are so caught up with our turmoil that we find no time to seek and wait on Him. In general, we are consumed with running from man to man, situation to circumstance; fixed on worldly things, swelled up in fear.

Ephesians4:4 reminds us that "We are all one body, we have the same Spirit, and we have all been called to the same glorious future."

When Jesus called to them all, Peter responded with hope. Peter became focused on Jesus while the others remained in fear of their situation. That call is for us as well. We need to be focused, listening, and ready to obey the Spirit's call to us. Listen to the beat of a "new" drum-dance and be set free into the greater things in Christ Jesus.

Back on the boat. Can you imagine how Peter's friends began to heckle and make fun at Peter's behavior. Yet he was the one who saw, heard, and responded to the Lord. They were so consumed with their fear of being shipwrecked, they could not see through their storm. There are many storms in this life of ours. Are we willing to be still and hear and see for ourselves that God is good?

The Spirit of Christ is calling. Do you hear and see what He has for you? Get ready and put your blinders on. Be so fixed on Jesus that you begin to walk on water, too. Experience His power of love delivering you from sickness, sin, and self. There is an exciting world for you to partake in. Go for it!

"None of you can be strong in God unless you are diligently and constantly listening to what God has to say through His word. You cannot know the power and nature of God unless you partake of His inbreathed Word!" (Smith Wigglesworth)

Today I pray that we see through the storm to the call on our lives. Be brave dear ones and take that first step, for the Lord your God is there to lend you His hand.

SIMPLY PUT !

(John 14:26 NIV) But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Prov 28:25. of a proud heart-literally, "puffed up of soul"-that is, self-confident, and hence overbearing and litigious. made fat-or, "prosperous" (Pr 11:25; ...

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, these O God, You will not despise." (Psalms. 51:17)

A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.(Prov 15:30)

The other day we had the privilege to be in the company of our five year old grand daughter for the day.  Daycare was closed getting ready for the new school year and mom and dad were at work. Well Papa and I planned a day with Alex with lots of activities: Coloring princes, writing letters, practicing our sight words for Kindergarten and making sentences out of those sight words, making up games, and singing and dancing. As you can imagine we had a full schedule, that also included feeding the ducks, going to a Princes day of beauty.  And we did fit it all in!

During the time of singing and dancing, Alex asked for some just music with no words so she could sing to me as she preformed.  Her dance was more than graceful; but the words to her song inspired me to write this blog. No one could have given testimony to those scriptures I selected above.  May the words of the Lord bring your heart to melt before the Father as they did for me.

These are the words Alex sang to me:

Jesus

I give my heart away
He gave me His heart and stronger bones
I sing with Jesus in my heart
He is really good.

I give my heart away
I give my heart away

God love you and me, He will save the day.  He made the beautiful sky!
His heart iks much bigger than I
He gave us His heart to save the day.
Holding hands together! We all hold hands.

When Jesus is in my heart there is no past.
Jesus is by my side
and you are by my side.
Walking in the park, He holds my hand. He walks with me in the garden.
He is the best!
I will grow with my friend Jesus.
In our heart we pray. We pray!

I believe in Jesus!

All I want to say that is the Gospel Simply Put! What has the Lord revealed to you as you read this intriguing, uplifting lyrics from a five year old?

Adversity Happens

The higher up the ladder we go the more of our behinds are exposed! Some believe that the closer to God the more we are bombarded with attacks from the enemy. Well people, I have found that if in the natural I do all I know intellectually for myself and others things are bound to come crashing down upon me. Life generally has its struggles and setbacks.

Satan will use our wrong choices and wrong associations to keep us out of God's will. However, when we are walking in the Spirit, listening to His voice, and being obedient to His call for us and our lives nothing, I say nothing, can come along to attack us and stop our success.

Adversity is bound to occur in our lives and change should be our middle name. We need flexibility and a willingness to adapt to what God has for us and not what the world has. If you are discouraged by adversity, depressed, and overwhelmed then I suggest you get your face in His Face. Surrender once again your life and your deeds and your possessions.

It is God's will we are after in our lives and if we mean that, we remain focused on the prize and do not even see the attempts that are being made against us or feel their effects. We are so deeply into God that His love smothers out and shelters us from all harm.

Discouraged? Overwhelmed? Afflicted? Do you feel as if you have grown in Christ and now are being attacked? Then do not walk but run to our Abba Father! Call upon a fresh fire from the Holy Spirit and begin to live in heavenly places not in earthly circumstances.

The fact is if we are in Christ we are a new creation. If we are fully armed with the armor of God then there is no weapon formed that can touch us! Walk in victory. Do not be the victim! If Christ is for us, who then may be against us! I say NO ONE! There is nothing we cannot do through Christ Jesus who strengthens us! Praise God. He has prepared a place for us in Himself to make us untouchable! Amen.

Be blessed and enjoy the Love He has for you today!

Hearing

When I was young I watched TV shows about cowboys and Indians. Did you? I learned that the Indians heard the white man or buffalo come by putting their ears to the ground. Then of course the cowboys knew when to get ready to rob the train by placing their ear to the train tracks!

Today some people can tell you when a storm is coming. The signs of rain could be the thick dark clouds or maybe the sound of thunder in the distance! Not that long ago, I was walking our dog, Tuffy. As I walked I was have a good old time speaking to the Lord. Then out of nowhere, I could actually hear the rain come. There were no signs in the sky or the sound of thunder. Nevertheless, we hurried our walk home. As we approached the front steps, it began to rain. That little experience taught me that I could hear God anywhere I was-that is, with the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells within me.

The kind of hearing I am thinking of today is hearing from God for our lives. Where do we put our ears to hear The Lord speak to us? The word hearing ought not to be taken so literally as to necessarily mean the outward sense of hearing. Rather, it denotes any perceiving of the will of God, and especially inward receiving and submission.

Romans 6:17
You used to be slaves of sin. But thank God that with your whole heart you obeyed the teachings you were given!

In order to be correct, the hearing should come from faithful observance, bringing submission of the inward acts and inclinations of the mind.

Do we send up smoke signals and hope for a response? Do we yell kick and scream until we get what we want? Do we go to a church service with the expectation of hearing from God? Do we read His word and expect He will make His wishes known to us?

Or how about hearing in everyday life? Do we come across someone and they speak a word to us that gives us an answer to unanswered prayer? Do we Read a billboard and receive encouragement from the Holy Spirit?

Or can we be quiet and still long enough to receive His instruction, edification (correction), His peace, love and acceptance? Do we journal about our concerns, joys and fears? Do we write long enough for Him to take over the pen and answer our cry?

Or have we experienced a time when we are about to do something or said something and then get a check in our belly? That is the Holy Spirit bringing it to our attention!

Proverbs 18:24
Even a man who has many companions can be destroyed. But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

We are a part of the Beloved (Christ Jesus) and He is a part of us. Closer than a brother, parent or friend! We are His all in all.

Romans 2:13 RSV
Hearing the law does not make a person right with God. People are considered to be right with God only when they obey the law.

Today I pray we become observant to our surroundings and allow the Holy Spirit in to speak to us! That we awake with humble hearts and make a way for the Lord wants to speak to us NOW! Lord not only that we hear from You, but that we obey what we have heard!

Fruit vs Power

Some have said I have quite the character! How about yourself? What can you say about your character?

I know that as the years pass my character changes. Some of those changes as to do with my age and experience. But I also know that many of those changes occur because of the wonder working power of the Holy Spirit.

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. (Galatians 5:22 NLT)

The Bible describes the fruit of the Spirit but in and of themselves fruit is not the power of the Spirit. The fruit is the outward manifestation to an inward working of the Holy Spirit. What I am saying here is that the fruit is no more than the serendipity of the power working within us. The fruit is no more supernatural than a fig is on a tree. So the fruit is not the super natural act itself. it is the result of a supernatural working and yielding on our part to change.

Some unbelievers naturally appear to possess some of the fruit of the Spirit. I said it appears because it does not mean it is the Holy Spirit working in them. It is their nature. When the Holy Spirit bears fruit within you, you do not have any control over it. You just are!

An example from my own life would be the time I was slain in the spirit. Oh yeah, the Spirit of God was so strong He laid me out on the floor. It was as if I were in another world; not even conscience of the present. Before May of 1991, I cussed like a drunken sailor. When I finally arose from the floor, that cursing was totally taken away from me. I did not have to fake it, practice speaking with proper language by using self-control. It was supernaturally gone!

When Saul was struck off his horse it was the power of the Holy Spirit. He had an encounter with God that changed his character. No longer Saul, a murderer, but Paul, a man who was filled with the Holy Spirit, listening and teaching the Gospel of the risen Christ as he went.

First came the power from an infilling of the Holy Spirit and then came the change or fruit.

As Christians following Christ, we are in need of the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. He has the supernatural power to heal, deliver, and to cause us to become the person the Father has created us to become. We can no longer live without the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. If we are, we are faking it, people. We cannot force ourselves to change, or intellectually work our way to heaven. We are to be broken before Him, recognizing our feeble minds, bodies, and souls. We are so limited in who we are in the natural while there is no limit with the power of the Holy Spirit within.

Today, I pray we all get a touch from the Holy Spirit. Not an old touch, but a new exciting touch, a lightening bold touch of power striking us right where we are to change us into a life bearing fruit tree. Fruit that changes our character, with power to mold us into gospel witnesses throughout our world.

We are Free!

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36

We are Free
No longer are we slaves to our old lives of sin.

We are Free
No longer bound to the customs and doctrine of man.

We are Free
To worship-live according to the written Word of God.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom 2 Corinthians 13:7

Have you ever examined a snowflake? Not one of them are alike-not one. That is how we are made-uniquely made and fashioned, not one of us are alike. Made in His image and likeness to fulfill a divine purpose in God's creation.

When that miraculous day in my life took place I was set free. Free from a life long illness, Free from religious doctrine, and Free from mans expectations. I was freed to explore and experience the ways of God-Free to participate in His glory and Free to express my faith in my unique fashion.

If I read it in the Bible, I was eager to see and experience it in my life. With God all things are possible! When I was in the company of believers or non-believers the Lord set me free to flow and be "Me" in Christ with all I come in contact with.

I have come to an understanding that I am who I am in Christ and others will be set free because of who I am. As I walk-talk and live my life according to His will and His pro9ding I become a forging light for others to come and follow Him as well.

Today I pray that you all experiment and experience God's presence, leading and prodding in your life. By doing so your Faith shall grow stronger and your "Joy" will be full.

Are you called to sing a spontaneous song? Then sing one!

Are you called to lay hands on the sick and see them recover? Then do so!

Are you prodded to give an edifying and encouraging Word of the Lord? Then give one!

Are you called-have a burning desire to set the captives free? Then begin to do so!

Are you called-awakened in the middle of the night to pray (intercede) for someone. Then begin as the Lord awakens you!

Whatever it is, you are unique, you are free to express who you are in Christ Jesus, where ever you find yourself, may the Holy Spirit be your guide and may He receive the glory.

I Did It!

I actually did something I have never done before! You might be waiting for some extraordinary accomplishment. Well, I killed a fly with my hands while it was in flight. So there, you can never say you cannot teach an old dog new tricks!

Well, that event got me thinking about how all things are new in Christ Jesus. Yup, you can say that you are a new person now that you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. We are new creature of infinite worth because of Christ's redemptive blood.

Deuteronomy 7:8
It was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath he swore to your forefathers that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Not only that but we are received by His deep love for us. Man He loves me so deeply that my mind cannot understand why yet I can reach out and almost touch His love for me.

Matthew 26:28
This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

And we are forgiven. I am completely forgiven! We are forgiven for every grievous offence and minor trouble that we have ever committed. Sometimes it is me-I cannot forgive myself so I hang onto guilt and shame.

Song of Solomon 7:6
How beautiful you are and how pleasing, O love, with your delights!

How about this? We are fully pleasing to our God, our Father in heaven. He looks upon us with eyes of love admiring us as we give Him the glory and praise. Those eyes of love are upon us as we sit and read, as we play with our children's children, and even while we sleep. He looks upon us with dreamingly eyes knowing that we are His own.

Acts 15:8
God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us.

We are accepted, totally and completely accepted by God our creator. No matter how we speak, how we react to situations, He totally accepts you and I just the way we are. The good, the bad and the ugly! That is so freeing to me I can hardly stand myself. He loves me. Yes He does and I do not have to do anything to prove myself or make myself someone I am not. Neither do you. Just be you! You are accepted. To prove this He has given us the Holy Spirit to call upon. He is the one ready and willing to bring forth the righteous we are in Christ.

In Christ Jesus, we are totally complete. There is nothing else we need to add to ourselves. We are full of His wisdom, knowledge and full of His love and power. We are perfect in every way.

So what are we waiting for? Waiting for the flesh to catch up to our spirit man? Waiting for us to know more? Today I say if we do not begin to walk out in Christ right now we will be left behind. Behind in all those extravagant things He has pre-destined us to do and accomplish in His Son Jesus' name.

As Easy As One, Two, Three

It's a piece of cake
Walk in the park
No sweat

I am sure these one-liners bring something to your remembrance. They certainly do that for me.

It's a piece of cake! I remember that being spoken by my accounting professor at Bryant College years ago. But when he referred to that saying I knew I was not in for a "sweet treat!" For me that one liner was associated with an accounting stumbling block.

Then of course "Walk in the park" sent me on a daydream path of peace admiring the beautifully scented flower beds, the chirping of birds, and the sound of a babbling brook. No place to go and nothing to be accomplished except to observe and enjoy the God created surroundings.

Last but not least is the famous saying "No Sweat" that usually was accompanied by, "Mom, I got it covered!" Knowing my growing teenage boys back then that usually meant I should pay close attention and be ready to pitch in at any time.

Today, the Spirit of God has been giving me a new understanding of walking with and being obedient to Him. And I know that you as well as I just love and live for the Lord. How can we not?-For He so dearly loves us so. Since the beginning of our existence He has called us His own, calling us his beloved, children, friend, and now His Bride!

So for me I know living a life with the Holy Spirit is a "piece of cake" and sweeter than any triple chocolate cake I could ever sink my teeth into. A sweet taste of the Holy Spirit's leadings and teachings keeps me thirsty and obsessed for more.

We can just live in the eye of the storm. It is a place of serenity and peace where the Son of God is revealed; a retreat to the inner secrets of God Himself.

Yes, it all happens in the course of our daily lives. No Sweat! Remain humble in His sight knowing all strength, wisdom, love, and power is doled out from above. Matter of fact, the Holy Spirit is waiting for us now so that He can lavish us with gifts beyond our imagination. That way of life is awaiting us so that we can live at peace where there is no peace. It is that place in Christ Jesus where we are righteous and holy. Let us go up to the mountain and live in the spirit today and every day for the rest of our lives!

We can do that because it is not by our power or our might but by HIS strength says the Lord our God.

Treasures in the Darkness

The Promises of God are Yeah! And AMEN!-Yes and it is done!

"I will never leave you or forsake you"

"May you prosper as your soul prospers"

"I am your shelter and refuge in time of trouble"

"On the day of your salvation I heard you"

These are amongst the hundreds of promises God has for each of us. It is up to us to search them out and have them become personal to us. For me, it seems that it is when I am most troubled that I cling to His Word for myself and for the lives of others close to me. Then of course it is when we are in our darkest time of need that we are frantically running around searching for the Truth to cling to.

Ah, if we could only settle into His presence, because we know that His light will dispel the darkness. Spending time with the love of our soul is viable for our victory. Seek Him in all His ways and He will make Himself luminous to you. For in the Light there is NO darkness! (Light meaning our Lord's presence)

These words might be familiar to you or maybe not. To me there are experiences attached to those words which prove to me that the Lord keeps His promises. In the midst of emotions of anguish, despair, or confusion He comes in like a flood to refresh, to restore, and to rejuvenate my body mind and soul. Why? Because He loves me and He loves you. He is waiting to meet with you. Just you. So go to Him and bare it all. Go love on the one who loves you the most!

I had once told my husband Dick that I would live anywhere with him. We did not have much; the most valuable asset we had was each other. When I said that, I meant it. If we had each other, all would be well. For almost 26 years now it has been more than just fine. The Lord saw to it that we have been blessed beyond our loving relationship with each other. He has blessed us with family, friends, and yes material things as well.

Well we need to say that to the Lord. As long as we have Him we need nothing else. Do you know he feels the same with us? All He wants of us is us, just the way we are, in relationship with Him so tight that nothing else matters. Now you have guessed it. When you have that relationship with Him all else is added to you. More than Enough!

Perspective

Ephesians 2:6
For he raised us from the dead along with Christ, and we are seated with him in the heavenly realms -- all because we are one with Christ Jesus.

It is all about perspective!

I remember when our son Tim first got his paper route. He was about 11 years old. Man that route appeared to him as a mountain he could NOT conquer. One perspective was to take it bit by bit, inch by inch. That was how to conquer this task that lay ahead. To see things in small pieces was one part of the answer. The other perspective was to know that he could do it.

Today, I can see myself as a new person with supernatural strength and supernatural knowledge and supernatural vision. Seated with Christ Jesus in high places and having the Holy Spirit living in me giving me all the supernatural qualities I need to accomplish my God given mission.

There was a time when I thought of myself as stupid, uninformed, incapable to succeed in life. Today I know I am an overcomer in Christ Jesus having the power and instruction of the Holy Spirit. I am the victor. So when I feel that I can NOT overcome something, I remember who lives in me that can.

Meditate on this:
All things are possible for those who believe!

Blessings, dianne

I Want More

Is it wrong to say: "I just want more"?

When growing up, we never asked for more to eat. We were given our portion and ate it. That was that! Then when I married and had children, I gave them their portions. They ate it and asked for more. There was always more than enough for them.

At one time I might have thought it was not godly to ask God for more. More of what you may ask? More of anything that I perceived God had. Gee, I would think, He healed me, isn't that enough? No! He took away my nasty mouth and replaced words of sarcasm with words of love. Wasn't that enough? No!

Then I would lay hands on the sick and watch the Holy Spirit enter in and see them recovered. Isn't that enough? No! I wanted to share what the Lord has done for me and expose the truths the Holy Spirit showed me. Was that enough? No! I could go on and on. I just don't seem to have enough love, enough power, enough gifts to give Him the glory. Never is there enough peace or revelation of Christ in my life.

I have come to understand that I am to remain hungry for more in my life and in the lives of others. I want more. I want more healings, signs and wonders, words of knowledge, and more inner healings to show as fruit in my life for the sake of the Gospel.

The Holy Spirit had placed a burning flame within me in 1991 when He healed me from Crohn's disease that continues to grow larger and larger. The more I experience in the Lord, the more I want. The more I want, the more He exposes to me! There just isn't enough of God in me. There is not enough God in the world. I want more!

Lord I pray we all come to the place beyond ourselves and find ourselves leaning on your breast; just wanting more-more of you. If there is a promise, it is for us to see and crave! For you are like myself, giving us more because there is more than enough!

They Know Who We Are

  • By our eloquent prayers
  • By our good works
  • By never cursing
  • By never drinking
  • By never offending anyone

Today I must say that anyone in this world can be like this person I have described--heathen or believer alike. But what does the word of God tell us about how the world will know that we are Christ's disciples?

The first scripture that came to me was John 13:35 "Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples." Does that means to love that Christian brother or sister you had an argument with last week? YES. Or maybe it is a brother or sister in Christ you disagree with over some doctrine. YES again.

Luke 6:32 tells us we are not to just love those who love us, and Luke 6:27 tells is to love even our enemies!

Again I say yes. Even the world will know that when you are filled with the Love of Christ, the Holy Spirit gives you the grace to love the unlovely. He gives you the overwhelming love to love the sinner even though you hate their sin.

He gives you enough love to befriend a person who needs a helping encouraging hand. The Holy Spirit gives us enough love to go to a brother or sister in Christ, whom you are a friend with, and approach them in love regarding their short coming, their sin.

Now I want you to know those items listed above should be some of the fruit of a believer; however LOVE is the only fruit that can withstand the trials and weather any storm in all relationships.

1 Corinthians 12:3-7
If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn't love others, I would be of no value whatsoever. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

That says it all for me. Lord I pray that I will display your love to others. That I like Jesus will endure all just because He first loved me. So what do you think? Got LOVE?

Babes

Mathew 18:3 And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

I woke up this morning thinking that our youngest child will be having her first baby. Ahh babes! I just love infants. They are so gentle, loving, and dependant. What I like best is that they are so dependent upon you for their care. What they eat, taking care of their cleanliness, feeding, etc. etc. Just the scent of an infant sends those feelings of love and joy through my being.

The joy of motherhood for me is to nurture and cuddly my babes in such a way they feel secure to grow into the individual that the Lord has entrusted us with. Oh, those toddler years, so brave and adventurous those babes become. They are unencumbered running about their small world attacking their day with joyful, fearless attempts to accomplish something brand new! When you call them, they run with open arms smiling, waiting for your loving embrace.

Mathew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Yeah, now that I am thinking about all of that, I am sure that is how our loving Father wants us to be with him. He want us so unencumbered with our intellect and worldly matters that we can free fall into His arms and bravely follow any instruction that the Holy Spirit would give us.

Today I pray we become more like babes remaining in our Fathers loving embrace!

A Grateful Servant

Isaiah 49:3
He said to me, "You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will display my splendor." (NIV)>

Since 1991, the year of my miraculous healing from Crohn's disease, life for me has been an extended gift. It was then I decided to dedicate my life to the Lord and the work He has for me.

Up to that point life revolved around acquiring things and providing comfort for and meeting our growing family's needs. Life seemed to be passing by without my giving a thought to my savior and His desire for me.

Along came the resurrection life and a zap to my mortal body. It caused a change in life style from a life focused on the world to a new life focused on Christ.

Grateful I live. I am grateful for the grace that has brought me thus far and grateful for the grace that will enable me to complete my race here on earth.

The world offered me a limited life with limited benefits. Grace has granted me the opportunity to be a servant of the Lord by serving others. The benefits are unlimited. I continue to count them today. Among those benefits are being able to watch our children grow into awesome adults and to be a part of our grandchildren's lives. It is also a benefit to share stories of Jesus and His love with our grandchildren, by living a long, loving, God centered life with my husband experiencing God moving in our lives and in the lives of others.

I could go on, but I will stop there. What things in your life do you have to be grateful for?

Take up Your Cross

As I was reading the dialog between Jesus and his Father in the garden, the Holy Spirit shed a light on what "our cross" means. Jesus the man cries out to the Father, "If possible, let this cup pass". (Matthew 26:39) The very next moment, in the same breath, Jesus finishes by saying, "not my will but yours".

John 12:27 is the punch line for me. It reads "I came to this hour in light of my purpose". The human Jesus dies to himself by leaving all earthly desires behind to face his Father's divine purpose for his life. He turns away to face his death on the cross.

Our cross is not the heavy burden as I was once led to believe. It is something light, fun, and easy to accomplish. Ah, the cross, therefore, is our divine purpose. It is that purpose the Father has for us to accomplish here on earth. Just think for a moment. Jesus told the fishermen to leave their nets and follow him. What an adventure they had learning, loving, and living with Jesus. They were living in their divine purpose.

So today I call upon the Father and say, "Have Your way with my life, using all for your benefit to advance the kingdom of God within me and those who you lead me to." This is the cross I carry. I am to listen and obey, sharing my life and declaring His love to others leaving my personal desires behind and keeping Him first.

What is the cross you carry to fulfill His divine purpose in your life? What are you letting go of so God can have His way with you?

Come Hungry

When I was first married, I remember going to Mom's for dinner. "Come hungry," she would say. And believe me we did come hungry. We ate and ate until we could not fit another bite in. Then to my surprise, there were the leftovers we did not expect to receive. WOW enough for another few days. Many nutritionists say that we become what we eat. And there is plenty to say about that statement.

Today the Lord is shouting to us "Come hungry"; there is plenty to eat and more than enough for you. He wants us to partake of His Spirit; to ingest and digest His word and become what He has called us to be. -More Love, More Power, More of His Word, More Compassion, More and more of Jesus. And we find out there is more for tomorrow and no need to gorge ourselves. It is like the manna He gave the Israelites. It was more than enough for today and more was always available for tomorrow, and all the days to come.

It is not until we are hungry do we appreciate being satisfied.

So here I am again, coming hungry. I am starving. I am famished for your infilling Lord. I am depleted, empty, and desperately waiting for God to move amongst us-anxiously and excitedly waiting for a manifestation of His love
