Sharing a Worship Experience

Something overcame me during the time of worship in church. The song was "Jesus Messier". My inner man began to sing a new song. It went something like this:

Jesus Messier come take me higher.
Higher Lord, higher.
Above my day to day routine;
Above my self-imposed responsibilities.
Take me so high Lord that
All I see and think about is You!

The Love of God just over whelmed me. I was in a different state of mind. I did not notice anyone around me nor did I care. I was with my Lord and He was with me. That was all that mattered.

I was living for and breathing in the life of the Lord. This might sound corny or religious to you, but I cannot find any other words to describe the sense of weightlessness and freedom that His presence brings.

I pray we all have a revelation of His presence and strive to move forward in our faith so we can reach the unreachable and touch the untouchable!

Money

We have been listening to other preachers lately and it has been a joy! One pastor's sermon was titled "Money Talks" As I sat and listened, I thought how brave he was to speak so frankly about our money and possessions and how we prioritize where we spend/save/ or horde our money. I do not know about you, but I know I have some warped thinking when it come to Dollars and Cents! "It is mine" just like "My house", "My car", "My dog", My cloths", and of course "My money" to do what pleases me, myself and I. Gee I do sound like a two year old, don't I. I wonder if I am alone in this department. Life is all about Me, Myself, and I and that perspective must change in order for the Lord to rule my life! Yours too!

We are here on borrowed time; hopefully we have enough to redirect our priorities into His Priorities for us. Lord I want to see the fullness of Your provision for my life, the earth, and all that is in it! All those things you have given us the privilege to manage until you return for us. Show us all Lord how to be the good stewards of your possessions, in Jesus name we all pray.

Obedience

Obedience in and of itself could be sin! You might think "How can that be?" Well, doing what I know is right with a begrudgingly attitude and kicking and complaining all the way is not Obedience, is it? We might be doing what is asked of us but not carrying out the command in a loving way. Something tells me sin is involved here. What do you think?

I often think about being obedient because I am obligated! No love there, either!

When Jesus came, He came out of obedience to the Father and when He died He died out of LOVE, not obligation. How quickly can I learn the Holy definitions of Obedience! May we all continue in the obedience Jesus taught us through his life walk with the Father!

The next time I am called to obedience, I will ponder the life of Jesus, test my attitude, and check my love thermometer! Will you do the same?

Just Thinking “Super Bowl”

The excitement continues to build with the anticipation of your team's success. The hustle begins with planning for the food and making calls to those you want to spend the day with. A home of celebration begins with the eating and the talking of the players and their sporting history of fame and wows! It was weeks watching games and sometimes wagering who would make it to the super bowl. Coming together with like minded football fans is a must to get that total thrill.

Is it the same when you mention the name of Jesus? Do you hustle about—to share Him with friends and like minded people? Does you blood begin to stir when you think about discussing your Jesus with people? Maybe a tear appears when you think of what He has done for you and those you love! Are you preparing for His coming? Are you anticipating His arrival in the lives of others? Are you inviting and talking up His history and His success in your life to sway people to His Kingdom?

Or does the mention of His name fall dead upon your ears! You don't have a history with the King of Kings. Your experience is limited to what you hear from others or the preacher on Sunday morning. If you are NOT moved to excitement as you would when you watch or discuss the Super Bowl, I challenge you to speak to Jesus and hang with those who will bring you closer to the Flame of His majesty!
