Dick has a Droid

Yeah he did it.  Searched high and low, compared prices, hemmed and hawed.  "Would it be worth the money?" He finally purchased it with a two year contract from Verizon.  The Droid 2 was free and the monthly contract has unlimited data!

Now that the purchase was made there is much time and effort taken to learn how to operate it.  Downloading the numerous apps that fit his needs and then to become an expert on each. Yes, finally it's clear sailing on the web, note taking, Bible reading, calendar, picture and video taking at his fingertips! Not to mention it is as GPS, compass. And a level. Need I say more? His Droid was the answer to his dilemma. Oh, yes, let us not forget that it is foremost a cell phone. Yes, you may make and receive phone calls as well.

I found Jesus. Better still, He found me in a sea of muck and mire! (sin) It was so much fun to be accepted into the Kingdom of God. So much love, so much peace, so much joy, so much righteousness. I can not stop giving Him praise and honor!  Just to be in His presence was plenty for me.

There are so many facets and expression of His love. I wanted them all; healing, deliverance, tongues, prophesying, interpretation of tongues, on and on. I wanted them all, and I still do! I want to be used by Him in all the gifts everywhere I go.   Oh, the glory. His mystical presence brings all that we need. Peace, Joy, Understanding, Wisdom His perfect Love-need I say more?

Revelations 2:4-5
Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.

Almost like the Droid, there are so many applications and expressions. What are the ones designed just for me and you? Are you downloading them and experimenting and learning how to apply them? Did we forget that Jesus came and redeemed us unto Himself first and foremost! Our relationship with Him sometimes gets overlooked and overshadowed by things to do for Him. How often do we forget?

Do you know that now Dick can replace his GPS, Palm Pilot, camera, and almost his laptop? Well he can, but will he feel confident in his ability to proficiently operate that Droid?

Romans 12:1-5
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Did you know that Jesus wants us to replace our old habits of drinking, smoking, cursing, carousing with a relationship with Him?  Just like the Droid you can replace those old things, but will you?

How advanced will we get in the Kingdom of God? How trusting and reliant will we become on His Spirit leaving behind the crutch of earthly things?
