As Easy As One, Two, Three

It's a piece of cake
Walk in the park
No sweat

I am sure these one-liners bring something to your remembrance. They certainly do that for me.

It's a piece of cake! I remember that being spoken by my accounting professor at Bryant College years ago. But when he referred to that saying I knew I was not in for a "sweet treat!" For me that one liner was associated with an accounting stumbling block.

Then of course "Walk in the park" sent me on a daydream path of peace admiring the beautifully scented flower beds, the chirping of birds, and the sound of a babbling brook. No place to go and nothing to be accomplished except to observe and enjoy the God created surroundings.

Last but not least is the famous saying "No Sweat" that usually was accompanied by, "Mom, I got it covered!" Knowing my growing teenage boys back then that usually meant I should pay close attention and be ready to pitch in at any time.

Today, the Spirit of God has been giving me a new understanding of walking with and being obedient to Him. And I know that you as well as I just love and live for the Lord. How can we not?-For He so dearly loves us so. Since the beginning of our existence He has called us His own, calling us his beloved, children, friend, and now His Bride!

So for me I know living a life with the Holy Spirit is a "piece of cake" and sweeter than any triple chocolate cake I could ever sink my teeth into. A sweet taste of the Holy Spirit's leadings and teachings keeps me thirsty and obsessed for more.

We can just live in the eye of the storm. It is a place of serenity and peace where the Son of God is revealed; a retreat to the inner secrets of God Himself.

Yes, it all happens in the course of our daily lives. No Sweat! Remain humble in His sight knowing all strength, wisdom, love, and power is doled out from above. Matter of fact, the Holy Spirit is waiting for us now so that He can lavish us with gifts beyond our imagination. That way of life is awaiting us so that we can live at peace where there is no peace. It is that place in Christ Jesus where we are righteous and holy. Let us go up to the mountain and live in the spirit today and every day for the rest of our lives!

We can do that because it is not by our power or our might but by HIS strength says the Lord our God.

Treasures in the Darkness

The Promises of God are Yeah! And AMEN!-Yes and it is done!

"I will never leave you or forsake you"

"May you prosper as your soul prospers"

"I am your shelter and refuge in time of trouble"

"On the day of your salvation I heard you"

These are amongst the hundreds of promises God has for each of us. It is up to us to search them out and have them become personal to us. For me, it seems that it is when I am most troubled that I cling to His Word for myself and for the lives of others close to me. Then of course it is when we are in our darkest time of need that we are frantically running around searching for the Truth to cling to.

Ah, if we could only settle into His presence, because we know that His light will dispel the darkness. Spending time with the love of our soul is viable for our victory. Seek Him in all His ways and He will make Himself luminous to you. For in the Light there is NO darkness! (Light meaning our Lord's presence)

These words might be familiar to you or maybe not. To me there are experiences attached to those words which prove to me that the Lord keeps His promises. In the midst of emotions of anguish, despair, or confusion He comes in like a flood to refresh, to restore, and to rejuvenate my body mind and soul. Why? Because He loves me and He loves you. He is waiting to meet with you. Just you. So go to Him and bare it all. Go love on the one who loves you the most!

I had once told my husband Dick that I would live anywhere with him. We did not have much; the most valuable asset we had was each other. When I said that, I meant it. If we had each other, all would be well. For almost 26 years now it has been more than just fine. The Lord saw to it that we have been blessed beyond our loving relationship with each other. He has blessed us with family, friends, and yes material things as well.

Well we need to say that to the Lord. As long as we have Him we need nothing else. Do you know he feels the same with us? All He wants of us is us, just the way we are, in relationship with Him so tight that nothing else matters. Now you have guessed it. When you have that relationship with Him all else is added to you. More than Enough!

Perspective

Ephesians 2:6
For he raised us from the dead along with Christ, and we are seated with him in the heavenly realms -- all because we are one with Christ Jesus.

It is all about perspective!

I remember when our son Tim first got his paper route. He was about 11 years old. Man that route appeared to him as a mountain he could NOT conquer. One perspective was to take it bit by bit, inch by inch. That was how to conquer this task that lay ahead. To see things in small pieces was one part of the answer. The other perspective was to know that he could do it.

Today, I can see myself as a new person with supernatural strength and supernatural knowledge and supernatural vision. Seated with Christ Jesus in high places and having the Holy Spirit living in me giving me all the supernatural qualities I need to accomplish my God given mission.

There was a time when I thought of myself as stupid, uninformed, incapable to succeed in life. Today I know I am an overcomer in Christ Jesus having the power and instruction of the Holy Spirit. I am the victor. So when I feel that I can NOT overcome something, I remember who lives in me that can.

Meditate on this:
All things are possible for those who believe!

Blessings, dianne

I Want More

Is it wrong to say: "I just want more"?

When growing up, we never asked for more to eat. We were given our portion and ate it. That was that! Then when I married and had children, I gave them their portions. They ate it and asked for more. There was always more than enough for them.

At one time I might have thought it was not godly to ask God for more. More of what you may ask? More of anything that I perceived God had. Gee, I would think, He healed me, isn't that enough? No! He took away my nasty mouth and replaced words of sarcasm with words of love. Wasn't that enough? No!

Then I would lay hands on the sick and watch the Holy Spirit enter in and see them recovered. Isn't that enough? No! I wanted to share what the Lord has done for me and expose the truths the Holy Spirit showed me. Was that enough? No! I could go on and on. I just don't seem to have enough love, enough power, enough gifts to give Him the glory. Never is there enough peace or revelation of Christ in my life.

I have come to understand that I am to remain hungry for more in my life and in the lives of others. I want more. I want more healings, signs and wonders, words of knowledge, and more inner healings to show as fruit in my life for the sake of the Gospel.

The Holy Spirit had placed a burning flame within me in 1991 when He healed me from Crohn's disease that continues to grow larger and larger. The more I experience in the Lord, the more I want. The more I want, the more He exposes to me! There just isn't enough of God in me. There is not enough God in the world. I want more!

Lord I pray we all come to the place beyond ourselves and find ourselves leaning on your breast; just wanting more-more of you. If there is a promise, it is for us to see and crave! For you are like myself, giving us more because there is more than enough!

They Know Who We Are

  • By our eloquent prayers
  • By our good works
  • By never cursing
  • By never drinking
  • By never offending anyone

Today I must say that anyone in this world can be like this person I have described--heathen or believer alike. But what does the word of God tell us about how the world will know that we are Christ's disciples?

The first scripture that came to me was John 13:35 "Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples." Does that means to love that Christian brother or sister you had an argument with last week? YES. Or maybe it is a brother or sister in Christ you disagree with over some doctrine. YES again.

Luke 6:32 tells us we are not to just love those who love us, and Luke 6:27 tells is to love even our enemies!

Again I say yes. Even the world will know that when you are filled with the Love of Christ, the Holy Spirit gives you the grace to love the unlovely. He gives you the overwhelming love to love the sinner even though you hate their sin.

He gives you enough love to befriend a person who needs a helping encouraging hand. The Holy Spirit gives us enough love to go to a brother or sister in Christ, whom you are a friend with, and approach them in love regarding their short coming, their sin.

Now I want you to know those items listed above should be some of the fruit of a believer; however LOVE is the only fruit that can withstand the trials and weather any storm in all relationships.

1 Corinthians 12:3-7
If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn't love others, I would be of no value whatsoever. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

That says it all for me. Lord I pray that I will display your love to others. That I like Jesus will endure all just because He first loved me. So what do you think? Got LOVE?

Babes

Mathew 18:3 And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

I woke up this morning thinking that our youngest child will be having her first baby. Ahh babes! I just love infants. They are so gentle, loving, and dependant. What I like best is that they are so dependent upon you for their care. What they eat, taking care of their cleanliness, feeding, etc. etc. Just the scent of an infant sends those feelings of love and joy through my being.

The joy of motherhood for me is to nurture and cuddly my babes in such a way they feel secure to grow into the individual that the Lord has entrusted us with. Oh, those toddler years, so brave and adventurous those babes become. They are unencumbered running about their small world attacking their day with joyful, fearless attempts to accomplish something brand new! When you call them, they run with open arms smiling, waiting for your loving embrace.

Mathew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Yeah, now that I am thinking about all of that, I am sure that is how our loving Father wants us to be with him. He want us so unencumbered with our intellect and worldly matters that we can free fall into His arms and bravely follow any instruction that the Holy Spirit would give us.

Today I pray we become more like babes remaining in our Fathers loving embrace!
